About
The Peel Harvey Biosecurity Group formed in 2014. This came after a public meeting where frustrations and concerns were raised about escalating numbers of weeds and feral animals.
The group is a not-for-profit organisation. It’s committee is comprised of community and local government representatives from Serpentine-Jarrahdale, Murray, Waroona, Harvey and Mandurah. It also welcomes membership from any person who owns land or manages property within these areas.
The Peel Harvey Biosecurity Group values the support of the WA State Government, with formal recognition by the Minister for Agriculture and Food coming in late 2017. It also receives ongoing support from the Department of Primary Industries and Rural Development, the Peel-Harvey Catchment Council, and local organisations such as Landcare SJ and the Waroona Landcare Centre
